TREAT YOURSELF

Throw your metabolism for a loop - eat something you don't usually eat early in the day. And instead of feeling guilty, savor every bite. Feel your body fill with energy. Focus on your metabolism being revved up for the entire day and eat a smaller dinner. Some fun options could be homemade banana bread or brownies. Just make sure you pick protein-rich treats.

PUNCH IT OUT

Anytime you feel yourself getting annoyed at something or someone (yet another urgent email, for example), run in place for 60 seconds and then do one-two punch or jumping jacks for 30 seconds. Put that adrenalin to good use! If you can do two more sets, great! If not, take five deep breaths - in for four, hold for four, out for eight and hold for eight. Just remember - it's either "rest and digest" or "fight or flight."

WALK / BOUNCE

Walk in place or sit and bounce on your yoga ball while talking on the phone. If you bounce, it will strengthen your legs and butt, and it doesn't feel like a workout but a relaxation technique. Think of a fussy baby suddenly smiling after put in a bouncer. The repetition of the same, slight movement is calming.

NOTICE

Get excited while anticipating your meal. Think how every bite will nourish your cells. Notice yourself salivating. Chew every single morsel for at least 30 chews. You get mindfulness points if you focus on the taste and texture. Think about how grateful you are for the food you are eating.

"V" IS FOR VICTORY

After eating a meal, hold your arms up in a v-shape over your head for two to five minutes while standing or sitting. Focus on the movement of your breath from your tummy to the tip of your fingers and back down.
