BENEFITS OF CREATIVITY!

Want to boost your joy, increase health and happiness and be more competent at the same time? This article from Forbes by Ashley Stahl talks about the five benefits of creativity.

Here are a few suggestions on how to get started:

Instead of grabbing your phone in between tasks or when you need a break, try some of these:

*Brainstorming new ideas
*Writing, drawing, painting, creating rhymes
*Scrapping, doodling
*Finding a new route to work, store
*Cooking or adjusting a recipe
*Experimenting with colors
*Arranging flowers or cabinets
*Taking/editing photographs
*Gardening
*Playing an instrument
*Trying new ways to get your kids to listen :)
*Taking an acting class, that one was for me :) but seriously, get creative with your creativity!

I find that it's easier to start something by writing it on a post-it as a reminder. Another trick I use is leaving paints, colored pencils, and paper to write on in various places so it's easy to start. At times best ideas happen when you least expect them, so be ready! Once you set an intention to be more creative, watch out!

This "piece" was from several years ago, but it still makes me smile! Forget perfection and do things for fun!
